Privacy Policy — Nerd Knight

Pre-launch notice: Nerd Knight is still in development. This policy is a working pre-launch draft and will be updated to accurately reflect the production app, service providers, legal entity, contact information and launch date before public release.

1. Information you provide

Nerd Knight may collect information you choose to provide, such as account credentials, username, profile information, biography, tabletop game preferences, campaign/table information, messages, and information you send to support.

2. Location information

If location features are enabled in the app and you grant permission, Nerd Knight may use location information to provide proximity or nearby-player features. The production version is intended to avoid publicly exposing a user's precise location. The final implementation and retention rules will be documented here before launch.

3. Information collected automatically

The service may process technical information needed to operate securely and reliably, such as device or app information, authentication/session data, IP-derived security information, error logs and basic usage events.

4. How information may be used

Provide accounts, profiles, tables, messaging and discovery features.
Maintain security, prevent abuse and enforce community standards.
Operate, troubleshoot and improve the service.
Respond to support requests and required legal processes.

5. Service providers

Nerd Knight expects to use third-party infrastructure providers to operate features such as authentication, databases and hosting. The final policy will identify material providers and describe relevant data handling before launch.

6. Messages and user-generated content

Content you send through Nerd Knight may be stored so that conversations and table features work. Content may also be reviewed when necessary to investigate reports, protect users, enforce rules or comply with law.

7. Data retention and deletion

The production service is intended to provide account/profile deletion controls. Some information may need to be retained for limited periods for security, fraud prevention, backups, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Specific retention practices will be documented before launch.

8. Children and age requirements

Nerd Knight's final minimum-age requirements and any age-gating measures will be established before public launch. The service is not currently accepting public registrations through this website.

9. Your choices

Where available, users will be able to control optional permissions such as device location through device settings and manage profile/account information through the app.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy will change as Nerd Knight moves from development into production. The version published at launch will include an effective date and appropriate contact information.
